I got my pink suede bucks on eBay a few years ago. The second requires what's called a "buck bag" - a small pouch of powder that you regularly hit the shoes with to restore their original color. The suede in casual shoes like these serves the same purpose as corrected-grain leather - it helps cover up imperfections in hides, allowing the shoemaker to save money on cheap leather.
